Corporate Social Responsibility, also known as CSR, is a term being used a lot more in society. Due to the rise of the Internet, consumers have become more aware of the daily happenings of businesses. As a result; your consumers have a growing expectation that your business will give back to society since they as a consumer support your business.

Giving back to society is a good choice ethically, but as a brand and business it can offer significant benefits when done strategically. As we’ve already determined, your customers want you to give back, so make sure you tell them how you are being socially responsible. Consider adding a page to your website discussing and promoting your charity or non-profit, write an occasional blog post about what they have been up to, or give them a shout out on social media. However you choose to promote your cause, make sure you a doing it regularly so your customers can see.

December and #GivingTuesday make it even easier to promote your cause. See what your charity or non-profit is doing over the holidays and make sure to join in the support. Tell your customers about their cause, show your customers how you are supporting them and ask them to help. Promote the partnerships on your website, social media and in your newsletters.
